I'm with Michele on this one. We had a NIGHTMARE experience w/the PECOS system when we moved. We updated our address thru PECOS and got the confirmation page that everything was received and would be forwarded to CMS for updating. We waited a little while and checked w/our local MAC and were told "no, nothing has come thru for your provider number, log on to PECOS again and do it again". Ok......3 more times of that, our provider number had a "hold" put on it. When we called because all of the sudden we weren't getting any direct deposits from Medicare, we were told, "well, we mailed letters out to you, but they came back return mail (we had a forwarding order, but Medicare doesn't forward), you'll need to update your address before we can take the hold off your number."
?? We explained we did update thru PECOS several times and received a confirmation page that it would be sent to CMS, our local MAC's answer to that was, "well, there must have been some kind of glitch, you may as well just try it again thru PECOS". Ummmm....no thank you. We'll just do paper apps from now on for any changes or any of the revalidations that come thru (working on one right now).
Good luck w/the pecos system -- hope it works better for you than it did us.
