I honestly don't know what works. But I can tell you what didn't work for me. I bought a list of 2000+ doctors in 100mi vicinity. So, yes, I had all the addresses and phone numbers. But like what was said before, a LOT of those were of the same location mentioned under various doctors. I would say almost 40% of the list was simply not usable. When a medical facility has over 30 doctors working, they don't want to entertain a small timer like myself.

But on the flip side, taking info from Yellow Pages was also very grueling for me. What I ended up doing is I took the first large list, eliminated as many records as I thought wouldn't be optimal clients and now I'm simply working the phone. However, tomorrow, I'm just going to start showing up at various clinics and hand them my card. I'll see if that works. Don't get me wrong, I'm scared to my core since I'm not a sales guy. I'm just a biller. But a person's gotta eat. And in my case, I think I have to simply do some leg work.

Also, most of those lists will list every doctor separately so if you have a practice of 8 that's 8 added to the list to bulk it up that are at same office. Those lists are a total waste of money.

This is what I did...
1. Go to Insurance website and click "find providers". For me I chose Chiropractic within 20 miles. (I got a list of over 300 doctors!)
2. Copy and paste the list into Excel and remove any un-needed information.
3. Copy and Paste the doctor name into Google to find if they are still practicing at that location.
4. Once I found the website of the practice, you can usually get a list of doctor. So I notated this on my spreadsheet.
5. Mail brochures, or make cold calls and update the spreadsheet if any new information was found.

So I still had a lot of manual work, but it was a great FREE way to get a list started. I also made different columns on my spreadsheet to track any responses I received. I think the list I got was way better than any list you might pay for.
