Hi...Can an LCSW in NY bill straight Medicaid? They were told that if the patient has SSI that they could. I was always under the impression that you could only bill Medicaid if it was secondary to Medicare. Please advise.

SSI is Supplemental Security Income.. nothing to do with Medicaid.
Is the LCSW credentialed with NY Medicaid?

It is my understanding that in NY, Medicaid will only pay a LCSW if the patient is a QMB with Medicare primary and Medicaid 2ndry.
Medicaid will cover the Medicare deductible, but usually not the coins, because it exceeds the NYS Medicaid rate.
