Contract/Attorney Questions

[A One Billing]

Good Evening,
We are just starting our Medical Billing company and have a couple of questions regarding the contracts. What kind of attorney do we look for that handles these types of contracts? Also, do they help you create the contracts or do you have to have them created and they just put them together for you? Thank you in advance for the help, this is all just brand new to us and we aren't exactly sure where to start.

I would recommend that you try to write up your own contract prior to seeing the attorney, or at least have an outline.  Otherwise you will be paying a much higher fee to the attorney.  It depends on the area you are in, but if possible you may want to find an attorney that specializes in the health care industry.  We are in a rural area so we don't have any local attorneys that fall into that category, so we went with a general attorney that we know.  It isn't a requirement for the attorney to be in the healthcare industry but obviously if they understand it they know more about what needs to be in the contract.
